Crown to slash 5% of workforce

Written by:

Crown is slashing 1,000 jobs across Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, as part of restructuring efforts.

Only a few weeks ago Crown was granted full casino licenses after years of supervised operations due to allegations of money laundering across casinos.

It seems new stricter regulations and cost of living issues has significantly impacted the industry and resulted in a lack of customers.

Crowns chief executive said the restructure was necessary due to softer economic conditions, reduced foreign tourism, decline in local workers in city centres, and gambling restrictions.

Cuts have been split between the corporations corporate and casino divisions.

Classic example of how government regulations can significantly impact an organisation.

Wonder how this might contribute to any upcoming changes at The Star Casinos.
